He notably represented the Government of the People's Republic of China (1999-2000) and played a key role in foreign market development for Mars, Incorporated (1972-1995), working to eliminate barriers for U.S. exports. His advocacy for U.S. rice exporters resulted in the successful opening of the Japanese rice market in 1994, making Japan the largest importer of U.S. rice. Additionally, in 1978, he championed the cause of 15 U.S. television broadcasters, leading to President Carter’s ruling that Canada’s advertising policies were discriminatory.
Beyond his legal practice, Mr. Fisher has devoted significant efforts to global healthcare and humanitarian causes. He is the Chairman of the Give Life Foundation, a Member of the Board of Directors of the Osgood Center for International Studies, and a founding member of the Aplastic Anemia and MDS International Foundation (1983).
