Additionally, in 1978, he championed the cause of 15 U.S. television broadcasters, leading to President Carter’s ruling that Canada’s advertising policies were discriminatory.

He is the Chairman of the Give Life Foundation, a Member of the Board of Directors of the Osgood Center for International Studies, and a founding member of the Aplastic Anemia and MDS International Foundation (1983).
